John Abel, Pastor
John joined the staff at Woodland in May of 2008. Prior to coming to Woodland John was a Christian Counselor in the Louisville community. John has pastored several churches in the last 20 years along with serving as Chaplin for several community health organizations. He is active in the community and serves on several community boards where he lends his expertise and serves others. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and Southern Seminary and is married to Donna also a graduate of Southern. He also has three wonderful daughters. John desires to see Woodland continue to grow into a church that demonstrates strength and commitment to prayer, missions and worship.
Susanne Jenkens, Minister to Families
Susanne joined us in April 2000. She had previously taught as an Instructor of Mathematics at the University of Louisville. Susanne earned her B.A. in Math at the University of Louisville. She earned her M.A. in Math at the University of Louisville as well. She received her Masters of Theology from Campbellsville University. Susanne and her husband Gary have four children, Heather, Brittney, Christian and Aaron and six grandchildren, Dylan, Nathan, Jack, Jaden, Josh, and Haley.
Jim Cordell, Interim Minister of Music
Jim joined our staff in October of 2009 as the interim Minister of Music and Worship. He has been an active participant of Music and Worship in the state of Kentucky for the past 35 years. His opportuntities of service include Minister of Music at First Baptist Church of Somerset and Director of Church Music and Worship for the Kentucky Baptist Convention.
