This year we have spent considerable time reviewing our vision and seeking God's next step in our visioning and progress as a church. We are glad to report that God has expanded our vision as we open our hearts, minds and mission to his plan.
This is what God is laying on our hearts and minds:
Woodland will be connected to our community in real and tangible ways as we endeavor to share Christ's love with the individuals and families that God brings our way through ministries that impact the whole person/family so that God is glorified and the needs of our flock (members, visitors, friends, neighbors, ministry recipients) are genuinely met.
Prayer, Worship and Mission are still primary vision points but the above vision statement is the expansion of our prayer, worship and mission initial vision points.
Community is the key. Community not only speaks to the neighborhoods surrounding our church but also all the communities that each of our members live in. We are interpreting community by using Acts 1:8 where Jesus told the disciples that we are to be his witnesses; first in Jerusalem, then Judea, then Samaria and then to the outer most bounds of the earth.
We are his disciples and we too are called to our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and all the world. Stay tuned for God's continuing vision expansion at Woodland. And, come join us as we work together to realize this vision.
